Method 1: Adding IDM to Chrome with a CRX File (Manual Method)

Before you start make sure that IDM’s “Use advanced browser integration” option is enabled. You can find this setting by opening IDM navigating to Options > General and checking the box for “Use advanced browser integration.” Ensure that Google Chrome is also checked.

Now follow these steps:

1. Download the IDM CC CRX file (usually named “IDMGCE.crx“) from IDM’s official website or a trusted source.
2. Open Google Chrome and click the three vertical dots at the top-right corner.
3. From the dropdown menu go to More Tools > Extensions to open the Chrome Extensions tab.
4. Enable Developer Mode by switching the toggle at the top-right of the page.
5. Now drag and drop the IDMGCE.crx file into the Extensions page. You’ll see a notification or popup asking if you’d like to install the extension.
6. Click Add Extension when prompted to confirm the installation.
7. Once added you’ll see the IDM extension icon in the Chrome toolbar.

Method 2: Adding IDM to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store

This method is more straightforward and recommended for users who prefer the easiest approach.

1. Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for “IDM Integration Module” or simply click here to go directly to the IDM Integration Module page.
2. On the extension page click Add to Chrome.
3. A confirmation popup will appear asking if you want to add the extension. Click Add Extension.
4. Once the extension is installed you’ll see the IDM icon appear in Chrome’s toolbar indicating that it has been successfully added.

Why IDM Extension May Not Appear in Chrome

There are cases where the IDM extension may not show up in Chrome even after installing Kuyhaa IDM on your computer. Here are a few possible reasons:

• Accidental removal of the IDM extension: You might have mistakenly removed it from Chrome’s Extensions page.
• Chrome disabling the IDM extension: Sometimes Google Chrome may disable the IDM extension marking it as corrupted.
• IDM or Chrome version conflicts: If you’ve recently updated IDM or Chrome or installed a new version this could cause issues in the extension’s integration.
